According to the update notes they're still thinking about how to fix it (properly, as opposed to the quickfix of the Chaos Plains). If I were them, I'd be seriously considering making it so that the duration and recharge of SF cannot be affected by skills...

In the changes to shadowstepping... yeah. From a PvE perspective, one of my builds uses a shadowstep to quickly get in to the enemy casters to shut them down. An aftercast... may not kill the tactic entirely, but it's certainly going to make it that much more likely the nasty will get their spell off before I can Temple Strike them.

Well... the skill is called Shadow Form, why not change it's type to an Elite Form? Add draxynnic's suggestion of not being able to reduce the recharge (so that you don't get Eternal Aura perma SF).

Yes, that would mean you cannot remove the form, but you could add a harsher end effect. Disable all skills on end? Move x% slower? Have -x armor?

The point of the nerf wasnt to slow the killing speed, it was to give monks a very short, yet useful, window of time in which the incoming damage can be protted whether it be on himself or another target.

Ugly changes. An AFTERCAST on a skill used to take advantage of surprise? Ugh. The one second attack skill delay on shadow walk is a better idea than having your assassin sit still and die. The movement of a scythe attack to wind prayers was not particularly great either. It would have been better if it got +X physical damage to target from scythe skills and +X cold damage to surrounding on condition from wind prayers and remained a scythe attack. Then you wouldn't need it to change categories from PvP to PvE.

As a note in general on skill changes, perhaps improving the desirability of build counters would be better than nerfing every commonly used skill. Don't like signets being used as much? Reduce the cost of Ignorance to 5, give it an 8 second recharge and have it do ~20 damage for each signet equipped on target. Have rust increase recharge time on signets as well as activation time. Etc. Shadow steps are a problem? Improve stances to prevent shadow stepping (example: have hex breaker prevent the next hex or shadow step attempt to your location). Make it an active and reactive game, with enough utility in each skill that a player can engage in a contest of wits and not a contest of builds. Please.

In any event, glad you're fixing armor glitches. Please get to the male Vabbian Elementalist armor next.

Shadow stepping probably needed a nerf but I'm not sure that this is the proper one... Maybe a casting timer of like 1 sec would make more sense, you see the sin stop running and your like 'oh shit he's gonna shadow walk'

So, even though it was heavily implied UB would get hit, it remains uber-God mode? Same with Shadow Form. Wow, dropped the ball again Anet.

Also, that horrible excuse for a Derv nerf... Seriously, I want to see "Fixed a bug that caused Bleeding to cover Deep Wound in the skill Wounding Strike." Then I will be happy. Also, Sig Hum's recharge should be about 5-10 seconds longer.

Agreed, Shadowstepping should of been removed from the game along time ago. Why nerf it when the problem is the teleport itself.

Wounding strike needs that to viable. It doesn't do + dmg and only inflicts conditions. You might as well run pious assault if you don't have bleeding act as a cover.

Yes Yichi, a strike-out here would be devastating for young Isaiah, his record has not been the best in recent months, and is really needing to improve on his average.

The Chilling Victory is hillarious. Its an interesting way to nerf SWAY... but at the same time, its a kinda bizzare nerf. I mean, logically it just doesn't make sense to have a scytle attack in wind prayers. I guess my dervish won't be using it, since I spec into earth prayers.

Good job on the Wounding Strike nerf. I also really like the Signet of Midnight and Signet of Humility nerf too. Those skills were a big problem in Arenas, which is part of PvP whether you guys like to think so or not. Well not SoH, that's not as bad in Arenas, in GvG/HA though.

So I'm happy Anet didn't drop the ball and nerfed those skills..oh wait..

logic doesn't apply to a videogame man.

It doesn't make sense that Disarm (a sword attack) is in Strength. But it is.

The teleport can't be changed without deleting shadowstepping. Shadowstepping won't be deleted. Hence, nerfing it to make it less imba is a good idea. Aftercast is a good nerf. It's a good update.
